Day Trip to Boerne, Texas
Boerne (pronounced “Bernie”), Texas is a magnificent treasure of a town located just 40 miles west of Dripping Spring. It is close enough for a day trip or a weekend getaway.
European immigrants first settled this land near the cool waters of Cibolo Creek over 150 years ago. Boerne’s beginnings are evident in the old stone buildings with narrow windows, steep gables, outside stairways, and gardens. Today, more than 140 historic structures remain. The city’s friendly people show deep respect for their cultural and ancestral heritage.
WHERE TO EAT & DRINK
Intermingled among the shopping, visitors experience the inviting aromas from hometown bakeries and local coffee shops. While taking in the ambiance of this thriving small town, visitors may choose to relax at a wine bar or enjoy a brew at one of the numerous craft breweries.
We always like to start our day at The Dienger. Located in the original Dienger Trading Co. built in 1884 by Joseph Dienger, this bistro offers delicious breakfast, lunch, and now dinner.

WHERE TO SHOP
A stroll down the Hill Country Mile, Boerne’s charming historic district offers a world of specialty shops including great antiques, fine home accessories, unique gift items, trendy boutiques, jewelry, and art galleries. Our very favorite is the famous Boerne Farmhouse. Conveniently located on Boerne’s South Main Street, Boerne Farmhouse is built around a genuine log cabin structure that was later expanded into 3,800 square feet of barn-like showroom space. Here you will find all the charcuterie boards and antiques your heart desires. From old doors to farm tables the store is full of treasures. If antiques are not your style then you must check out Bechants. From women’s clothing to shoes, fine jewelry, perfumes, bedding, home fragrances, stationery, baby, kitchen, healthy living, and fine gifts from around the world, you can find it all at Bechants.
